Team Leader
Kara Foodservice, Manchester
 
An opportunity has arisen for a Team Leader within the Operations Department.
 
Key tasks include:

·        Responsible for the day-to-day co-ordination and leadership of own team and area.
·        Record relevant information on down time, efficiency and waste
·        Ensure product quality is achieved by effective use of resources.
·        Liaise with plant technicians and shift engineers in relation to faults.
·        During plant shutdowns (planned or unplanned) ensure that adequate cleaning and preparation is carried out prior to restart.
·        Participate in company initiatives on training and development of both yourself and others.
·        Have an understanding of the duties of the other Team Leaders to provide support where necessary.
 
The successful candidate will have a good knowledge of the manufacturing process, and be able to demonstrate the ability to co-ordinate the activities of a team with clear leadership skills. Possession of excellent interpersonal skills is essential as the ability to build effective working relationships at all levels is a must. A willingness to learn and commitment to personal development should also be demonstrated.

Technical Specification Writer
Fletchers, Sheffield

We have a vacancy for a Technical Specification Writer who will report to the Technical Manager.  This candidate is to ensure an accurate up to date database of specifications is maintained on raw materials, packaging and finished product. To utilise customer specific electronic specification systems accurately and in a timely manner to generate finished product specifications. 
The hours of work are Monday to Friday (8.30am until 5pm)
 
Key accountabilities include:

Liaise with site personnel (including NPD, Sales, Despatch, Technical, Buyer) to access all current recipes, packaging & process information.
Work directly with suppliers to obtain raw material & packaging information & specifications & topical data as required and in conjunction with the Raw Material Technologist.
Maintain & develop packaging and artwork as required.
Input high level of accuracy database information, including recipe, process detail, packaging & nutritional information on the system & format to the correct specs as per customer requirements.
Issue specifications to the Technical Mgr for checking & sign off.
To transpose information onto customers’ required format onto the system.
Ensure specs are updated as necessary.
Liaise with NPD Manager to progress NPD projects into required customer specifications formats.
Maintain hard copy specification files.
Assist in checking and approval of artwork, packaging process to ensure legality & due diligence are maintained.
Assist all relevant Technical literature (e.g. PDI forms & submissions)
Carry out ad hoc projects as required.
 
Key skills & experience required:

A background in food manufacturing is essential.
Ideally have experience of using specification systems e.g. Find, Inspire etc.
Ability to communicate effectively with internal depts. & external customers/suppliers.
Excellent PC skills including Word, Excel, Internet.
Attention to detail & accuracy in completing tasks.
 
Candidates must have good communication and organisation skills.  Have a proven ability to prioritise own workload and work to tight deadlines and be able to work with limited supervision.

Team Leader

Health, Safety and Environment Co-ordinator
Fletchers, Sheffield

We have a vacancy for a Health, Safety & Environment Co-ordinator who will report to the Operations Manager
 
This candidate is to drive the management of environmental, health and safety risks on site, and to ensure compliance to corporate standards and to comply with statutory requirements.
 
The hours of work are Monday to Friday (8.30am – 5pm)
 
 Key accountabilities include:

To drive continuous improvement in respect of; environment, occupational health, safety performance and to co-ordinate loss prevention, disaster/crisis management and security issues
Track performance against audits, the risk management plan and site Key Performance Indicators (KPI).
Manage risk assessment programme including training and corrective action
Communicate health & safety training programme
Work closely with internal functions to effectively deliver the health and safety agenda, particularly line managers, engineering and Occupational Health Agenda
Set objectives for the H&S team, first aiders, risk assessors, Fire Marshall’s, accident investigators and others in EHS related roles
The Submitting of data with regards to accidents, utilities usage
Champion GMP and Health and Safety management throughout the Business Unit and actively promote a clean as you go procedure whilst developing safety culture.
Responsible for maintaining a working Health & Safety system (Policy statement, Procedures, Risk Assessments, Work Permits etc).
Key skills & experience required:

Minimum Diploma in Health & Safety.  Degree in EHS discipline preferred. (qualifications will be considered in conjunction with relevant experience).
Experience or background knowledge in food environment
Must be computer literate with experience of MS Word/Excel being essential.
Be proactive with self motivational skills
Have a practical ‘hands on’ approach
Be good at forming & maintaining relationships
