Fletchers signs up to the May Day Pledge
Group actions will support reduction in carbon emissions
Fletchers Group of Bakeries is pleased to confirm that it recently signed up to the Princes May Day Pledge.
The Prince's May Day Network is the UK’s largest group of businesses committed to taking action on climate change. Over 1,100 businesses of all sizes and from all sectors have signed-up to date, and collectively they promise to play a powerful role reducing the UK's carbon emissions. Details of the pledge and the network can be found at www.maydaynetwork.com.
The Prince's May Day Network is convened by Business in the Community, and helps businesses realise benefits from taking action on climate change. It helps them through practical support, and by profiling their low carbon activities. It is sponsored by businesses that are taking a lead on climate change, and partners with key business support organisations.
As part of its commitment to this pledge the Group will be working with both customers and suppliers, as well as within it's businesses, to reduce carbon emissions. It will also be encourgaging employees to reduce their emissions both at home and at work.
More information on what the Group is doing to support this pledge will be available in the near future.
