Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)

Fletchers Group is keenly aware of the importance of playing its part in the wider community and is involved in a number of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities to maximise its impact as a national business in a positive and responsible way.

Charitable partner - ARC

Fletchers Group is supporting ARC with a number of donations and fund-raising activities.

ARC is the only national charity which provides non-directive support and information to parents throughout the antenatal testing process.

When choosing a charitable partner, Fletchers Group asked staff to put forward suggestions as well as vote on their preferred organisation.

Jane Fisher, ARC Director, said: “ARC made the shortlist after being nominated by a Fletchers Group employee because we supported them when their family experienced a difficult pregnancy, although fortunately and thankfully the baby was born in good health.

“We were incredibly pleased to be chosen as charitable partner as we were up against some major high-profile charities on the Fletchers Group shortlist, whereas we are far from a household name and we work within a sensitive area of family life.

“The support from Fletchers Group is so encouraging because it feels real – sometimes with CSR you feel a business might be ticking the boxes. But we are not a fluffy charity – we help people deal with very personal and very painful experiences – so their support is genuine and very much appreciated.”

Prince’s Mayday Pledge

Fletchers Group has signed up to the Prince’s May Day Network - the UK’s largest group of businesses committed to taking action on climate change.

As part of its commitment to the Pledge, Fletchers Group is working across its business units with employees, customers and suppliers to reduce carbon emissions, both at home and in the workplace.

Steve Boyd, Fletchers Group HR Director, said: “Fletchers Group has engaged with a group of consultants to measure our business energy use and identify reductions.

“The company is working on reducing packaging weight, while our big aim is to ensure all waste from across the four sites is incinerated and burned for energy rather than going to landfill.”
